BioIn Luitger's, code named L, world - things are quite different. He is a member of the SS, working in the SD. His job is to gather information for the Reich. In other words, he's still a detective.
Also, in L's world, the Fuhrer is not Hitler, but is in fact Light himself (Or Licht as he is known in this world.) Mello and Near are members of the jugend (Hitler's Youth) training to one day join the SD and work along side L. These will be important facts to know when it comes to this L's first interactions with these characters.
L works much like he does in the original universe. He works under a secret name, works alone, and is the highest-ranking officer in the SD. He also only ever interacts with Himmler(leader of the entire SS) directly, much like the canon L with Watari.
Personality and mannerisms wise he is very much the same as the original universe L. He's a relatively secretive and quiet person, and works on little to no sleep. The only difference lies int he way that this L is very eager to please anyone he sees as a higher rank to him, which comes from years of military training and hard work to try and impress the fuhrer.
